Terms & Conditions

1. Fees are payable per term in advance before the first class of each term. Payment is via bank transfer only, unless otherwise agreed to minimise the handling of cash and cheques.
2. Fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred. Pro-rata fees will be acceptable only if registration occurs mid-term. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds to cover holidays, illness or any other reason a class is missed, due to the need to ensure continuity of service.
3. The studio will be closed during half term, school and bank holidays. No classes will take place on these days. If classes are scheduled on these days, an additional fee will apply.
4. Punctuality is essential and classes must be attended regularly. Any absence must please be notified.
5. No persons may observe classes to avoid distractions, with the exception of the Ballet Bunnies classes (18 months to 5 yrs) where ONE parent/guardian is in attendance. There is opportunity for family and friends to watch the last 10 minutes of class, on the last day of each term.
6. No dance pupil/parent may enter or interrupt whilst class is in progress. Please wait in the entrance/foyer until pupils are called into their class.
7. Communicating in between classes is not advised due to a tight timetable. Please call or email regarding any queries or concerns.
8. Pupils are please to wear appropriate dance/gym gear. Trainers with good ankle support are essential for Street & Hip-Hop and either bare feet or Jazz shoes/Ballet shoes for Modern and Ballet Bunnies. No jewellery to be worn to avoid injury. Long hair is to be tied back neatly.
9. Mobile phones must please be switched of during class and members may not chew gum for safety reasons.
10. Water is recommended during class, no food or fizzy drinks are permitted in the studio.
11. Offensive behaviour and/or language within class is not tolerated and any cases will be dealt with appropriately.
12. Teaching dance often requires the teacher to use physical contact when helping to improve pupils’ posture and facilitate movements. This may also include physical contact between pupils such as holding hands etc. No physical contact will be made during Covid-19 restrictions.
13. Extra classes for Shows, Festivals and Exams are compulsory once committed and will be charged according to time allocated per class.
14. One full 11 week term’s written notice of intent to leave the studio must be given or one full term’s fees will be charged in lieu thereof. Once registered and enrolled at Danceworks Studio, a pupil's place at class is automatically reserved each term and free and available spaces can only be advertised to other dancers, upon receiving advance written notice.
15. Photography and Video/DVD recordings will be taken on certain occasions by a third party or the teacher and may be utilised for promotional use, media publications and on the Danceworks website/Facebook page. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are consenting for your child to be present in some of these images to be possibly posted online. Please contact Danceworks Principal, should a pupil need to opt out.
16. Covid-19 Protocol. We ensure that all dancers maintain social distance within the studio during classes by dancing on a coloured disc, spaced 2 metres apart. Sanitising gel is available in all studios.

Should a pupil test positive, they must not attend class at Danceworks Studio until the self-isolation period has ended. Our Covid-19 protocols will continue to be implemented and therefore classes will proceed as normal. However, if your child subsequently displays any symptoms, it is recommended to get a test.

17. In the event of a Covid-19 lockdown, classes will be moved online via Zoom. We work very hard to make the routines fun to keep dancers engaged. If a teacher must isolate at short notice, we may need to move lessons to zoom. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds or transfer lessons if you opt not to participate in zoom classes during Lockdown or if a teacher needs to isolate at short notice and classes move to zoom.
18. Please report any Covid-19 symptoms immediately to Danceworks Studio Principal. No pupil or teacher should attend class at Danceworks Studio if they are displaying symptoms of Covid-19. Anyone who develops symptoms during class, will be separated from others and parents/guardians must be prepared to collect their child from the session ASAP.
19. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, Danceworks is authorised to seek medical services in case of serious injury or illness if a parent/guardian cannot be contacted.
20. T&C's will be updated whenever necessary. Parents and guardians will be informed and have 14 days to opt out of accepting changes made. We will otherwise assume you agree to any changes made.
21. The studio corresponds with parents and pupils via email with regards to dance fees, class activities, festivals, examinations and competitions. Email addresses are not shared.

It is a condition of membership that pupils and parents/guardians release and absolve Danceworks Studio and its teachers from all liability against any claim for loss, damage, accident, injury or in the unlikely event of death suffered by any member, invitee or guest acquired out of the use of the studio premises or attributed to any act or omission whether amounting to negligence or not of any teacher/s, member or any other person.
